Contractor's Services was established in February 2001 by founder and creative genius, Michelle Tack. The goal of the business is to protect the rights of construction professionals by providing a service that supports the complexities of the construction industry. Contractor's Services is a legal document service preparing construction contracts, 20 preliminary notices, mechanics liens, and more.

Builders Notebook Construction Newspaper was first published in October of 2001 to promote and advertise Contractor's Services. What was once a newsletter with 200 readers, has since grown to a newspaper with more than 12,000 readers and growing! Builders Notebook is considered to be a trade journal by the State of California, complete with a physical and on-line plan library (plan room). The newspaper and plan room were developed in the pursuit of keeping contractors and construction professionals abreast of the local construction market, by making available recently issued permits, government jobs out to bid, filed mechanics liens and notices of completion.
